The journey to building your new home

At North Ridge, we know how exciting building a new home can be. We also know that the process can be daunting if you haven’t built before.

So we’ve provided a step-by-step guide to help you through the journey.

Why Build a New Home?

  • Building a new home means you get exactly what you want and how you want it. No compromises on the interior finishes and fixtures, so you get the perfect home for your family and lifestyle.
  • You can choose from a wide and wonderful range of locations with lakes, walkways, parks, and close to schools, shops and amenities.
  • You can avoid potential problems with renovating an older home, due to hidden faults or unexpected issues.
  • You could save money while your new home is being built: payments can be staggered throughout the process so you don’t have to come up with all the money up front.
  • If you’re a first home buyer you may be eligible for federal incentives.
  • Plus a new North Ridge home comes with a Saskatchewan New Home Warranty Structural guarantee and 1-year comprehensive warranty with North Ridge to give you peace of mind.

Building your new home

Watch your dream become a reality as your North Ridge build team gets to work. Your construction and site manager will supervise the process and will ensure that the building of your new home adheres to our stringent quality assurance guidelines. This phase includes nine building stages:

  1. Excavation: The process of digging out the location of your foundation
  2. Foundation: Pouring your foundation walls
  3. Frame: Erecting the frame
  4. Lock-up: Getting the home to 'lock-up' (with a roof, walls, windows and doors)
  5. Electrical & Plumbing: All of the wiring and ventilation
  6. Drywall: When the interior walls are completed
  7. Finish: Completing the interior and exterior details of the home
  8. Quality Assurance: North Ridge inspection team identifies any issues with construction materials or workmanship and fixes them
  9. Completion: Handover of your new home!

Moving in and starting your new life

Welcome to your BRAND NEW home!

One month prior to your completed home, we will arrange a confirmed possession date of when you can move into your new North Ridge home.

It’s quite normal for minor items to require attention as a new home ‘settles’. This is why we offer a 1-year service period to conduct our New Home Service inspection.

Couple this with the Saskatchewan New Home Warranty structural guarantee and you can look forward to enjoying your new home for many years to come.
